Dear Room 8, we play in the gardens nearby, la Jardin de Villemin, there are a lot of homeless people living in there, they come from Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan, they sleep in the park at night and the get free food and clothing from the good samaritans of the city of Paris. I met some friends there, they are muslims, their mothers wear headscarves or a burka, they look very cool. We have been swimming a lot, yesterday we went swimming in a pool on La Seine, it had the roof off, it is called La Piscine Josephine Baker, she was a famous dancer here in Paris in the 1930's and 1940's, she had great costumes. Our dad has been to Portugal and Switzerland and the south of France to play music, we didn't go, we stayed in Paris, we will go and see him play on Friday. He is also making work for an exhibition, for art week here we will go to the Louvre and the Palais de Tokyo. Love from Molly and Luc

Dear Room 8
Yesterday we walked to the Eiffel Tower but we didn't go up because the line was so huge. We did visit the Louvre, this was once a Palace, it is ginourmous, the Mona Lisa lives in it, in french she is called La Joconde. We walked for miles, I got a pair of jandals and a mini Eiffel Tower.
we walked along la Seine, and along Ponte AlexandreIII bridge. it was really hot.

Paris
Luc and Molly at the Canal Saint Martin, Paris, 75010, Juin 9 2009
So we have arrived, it has been hot, the trip was long. Molly and Luc both had amazing jetlag, up at 1am watching movies until 4am, being grumpy and tired and falling asleep behind guitar amps at rehearsal. We have travelled the Metro from our apartment in Pantin in the 19th arrondissement of Paris to the studio in the Faubourg near the Gare de L'est and the St Martin Canal in the 10th. The studio is in an old convent, the room we are in was once lived in by nuns! Slowly we have been discovering the landmarks; the Jeu de Paume, Place de la Concorde, Tuileries, Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur. Last weekend we went to Bruxelles in Belgium, we stayed with our friends Gabriel Kuri and Frances Horn and their children, the twins Ileana and Jonas, they have a dog called Poncho, we took him for walks to the park.
